3rd Call for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) and Virtual Mobility (VM) Grants is Now Open!
PAAR-Net is pleased to announce its 3rd Call for Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) and Virtual Mobility (VM) grants for activities taking place between 20 June 2025 and 15 September 2025.
This call supports researchers and innovators interested in advancing participatory approaches with older adults, especially those at risk of social exclusion, in line with the objectives of PAAR-Net (COST Action CA22167).
What is PAAR-Net About?
PAAR-Net focuses on strengthening participatory approaches by involving both experts-by-training (academics) and experts-by-experience (non-academics such as older adults) in research, policymaking, and practice. This Action promotes inclusive social innovation and aims to enhance the visibility and voice of older adults in shaping ageing societies.
What are STSMs and VMs?
- STSMs are in-person research visits to institutions in other countries, enabling hands-on collaboration, data collection, or co-creation activities.
- VM Grants support online collaboration across borders for knowledge exchange, comparative research, or preparation of joint publications and proposals.
Grant Amounts:
- STSMs: Up to €4,000
- VM Grants: Up to €1,500
- Remaining Budget for this Call: €3,240 (STSMs) and €2,500 (VM)
Who Can Apply?
- Both young researchers/innovators and established academics are welcome.
- Young Researchers and Innovators from Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC) and Near Neighbour Countries (NNC) are especially encouraged to apply.

How to Apply?
Applications should be submitted via e-COST and must include:
- Dedicated forms available outlining objectives, relevance to PAAR-Net, description of the work to be carried out and expected outputs (e.g. journal articles, policy briefs)
- Host institution’s confirmation
- CV, list of publications, motivation letter, work plan, written agreement from the host institution and support letter from the home institution.
