Anna Wanka, grantee of Virtual Mobility in Grant Period 1

Bio:
I am a sociologist and critical gerontologist interested in age constructions across the life course. I did my PhD in Sociology at the University of Vienna, Austria, and am currently a research group leader at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany.
Grant supported actions and initiatives:
Receiving the PAAR-Net Virtual Mobility (VM) enabled me to develop a methodological companion to support practitioners in adopting participatory methods when working with socially excluded older adults. This guide, titled “Empowering Voices and Experiences of Socially Excluded Older Adults – A Participatory Research Companion”, shall equip professionals with practical tools, strategies, and insights aimed at fostering inclusive environments and enabling active participation for older marginalized individuals, such as those experiencing homelessness, isolation, or ageism. The companion will be made available at: https://www.cost.eu/about/strategy/open-access/
Testimonial:
A Virtual Mobility Grant is a great way to closely collaborate with colleagues across Europe, without leaving your office! It enabled me to create a methodological companion, receive feedback from experts and stakeholders in even the most rural areas, and have it designed in an accessible manner. It is a truly low-threshold, quick and simple instrument to make change happen.
