Reimagining Communities and Places: Empowering Older Adults through Participatory Approaches
Frankfurt

Building on the impactful work of Working Group 2 within the PAAR-Net COST Action, a new briefing paper titled “Reimagining Communities and Places: Participatory Approaches with Older Adults” has been released. The paper synthesizes the outcomes of the International Knowledge Exchange Event held in Frankfurt in September 2024, offering innovative strategies and actionable insights to enhance participation for older adults in diverse communities.
This milestone document reflects the collaborative efforts of researchers, policy-makers, practitioners, and older adults, who came together to address critical challenges in fostering meaningful engagement. The insights gained from co-creators and shared experiences during the event highlight the importance of inclusive practices and participatory approaches in reimagining community and place.
The briefing paper serves as a practical guide for stakeholders, emphasizing strategies to empower older adults as active participants in shaping their communities. By integrating these participatory approaches, the PAAR-Net initiative continues to advocate for inclusive and resilient societies. Read the brief paper
